I have been creative my whole life. When I was little drawing, painting and colouring were my favourite pastimes and at school art and design my favourite subject.
This love of design, along with some technical and mathematical ability, led me to study architecture at the Glasgow School of Art and, after a gruelling 6 years, I obtained my Degree and Diploma in Architecture. I went on to work in the field for a few years but my heart was never in it and I longed to use my skills in a different way. This is where my journey takes a bit of a turn...
In March 2014 I decided to quit my job as an architectural assistant to move home to Inverness and set up a home baking business called Ever So Sweet. I spent a year baking furiously in my kitchen for private orders, food fairs and events. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot about small businesses through trial and error, meeting other owners and through my customers.
Web design is something I have always been interested in. Back in high school me and my friend started a website dedicated to our favourite wrestlers (yes, I said wrestlers!) on Geocities! Also, throughout my baking business days I had kept a food blog, designing all of the logos and images and tweaking themes to suit my design.
So here I am today with Bake this Happen where I hope to help people like me start their journey into cake/cupcake/macaron/*insert other delicious home-baked good here* business owning success.
Whether its a new logo, a slick user friendly website or just some business advice, I am here to help and I look forward to getting to know you!
